Austin’s Cap Tex Tri is not only a premier event for professional athletes and the inaugural National Paratriathlon Championship but also a great way to show off Trigger Point Performance’s Cool Point, the original hand cooler. The Texas heat was in full force throughout the race with a balmy 80-degree swim, a sun scorched bike course through the streets of downtown Austin, and a run with only about 50 totals meters of shade.
Fortunately for many of the athletes, the Trigger Point Performance Cool Point hand-up station was strategically placed on the run course right as the heat began to really take a toll on the competitors. Professional triathletes, with a $1,000 incentive of being the first to cross the finish with Cool Point in hand, of had the opportunity to take an icy cold Cool Palm at the hand-up station.
Winners of the Cool Point “Outrun The Heat” Challenge included Women’s 1st Place Champion, Sarah Haskins, and Men’s 3rd Place Finisher, Ben Collins.
