We’re back from a Bonsai weekend at the Crossfit Southwest Regional Qualifier – GSX Hell’s Half Acre, and whew – what a weekend. As you saw earlier, we faced some weather challenges, but even with Mother Nature doing her part to dampen our spirits we managed to have a super successful weekend. We sold out of nearly all of our product, met a ton of excellent people, helped countless people, and had a great, great time.
Here are a few photos from Saturday night and Sunday – we’ll go short on text here, and just share some pictures.

Things got started early on Sunday morning; rolling out folks

The top five women's finishers - they're going to the Crossfit games
The top five women finished as follows:Carey Kepler, Pollyanna Bobseine, Crystal McReynolds, Lindsey Smith, Nikki Hall. Congrats to CrossFit Central – they had two (2) top five women’s finishers (Carey and Crystal)!!

The top five men's finishers - also going to the Crossfit games!
The top five men finished as follows:Dutch Lowy, Breck Berry, Lance Cantu, Vic Zachary, Jason Boag. Congrats again to Crossfit Central – Lance is a coach there, and finished third! Crossfit Central was tearing it up!!
For what it’s worth (we’ll brag a bit here), we spent a lot of time working with (rolling out) a bunch of the top 10 finishers. Dutch came by for a refresher on Saturday, and then rolled out extensively after his heats on Sunday. Carey and Crystal took a Quadballer back to the hotel with them on Saturday night; each made sure to rollout before their heats. Lance has taught classes for us and was spotted using our stuff over the weekend. We’re not saying you’ll be a top 5 finisher if you use our product, but it definitely won’t hurt to roll out!
And many, many thanks to Tucker and his crew over at GSX. They did a fantastic job with the event – everything went off without a hitch, and we really enjoyed ourselves at this inaugural event. We can’t wait to go back next year. Here’s Tucker getting a little emotional – he and his crew put their hearts into this event, and it showed:

Tucker from GSX thanks the crowd.
With the event over, it was time to pack-up the Trigger Point RV and hit the road back to Austin. We got everything loaded up (there wasn’t any product to load-up as we sold out of it all), and got to motoring. Thanks again to everyone who attended the show, stopped by to work with us, bought product, and gave us wonderful feedback. Triathlon/marathon may be our “home crowd,” but you CrossFitters are really making us feel welcome and like a part of the family – we can’t say thank you enough for your interest and support.
Greetings from Fort Worth, Texas and the GSX Crossfit Games Southwest Regional Qualifier! As you’ve noticed from previous entries, we’re making quite a splash in the world of Crossfit; people from all walks of life, various sports venues and arenas, from weekend warriors to hardcore, elite athletes – they all recognize the benefit of our products. It’s quite rewarding to work with this wide variety of people, and it’s definitely opening our eyes to how our products help people no matter where their primary athletic focus may be.
We arrived in Fort Worth late last night, with our freshly wrapped/vinyled motorhome. The ‘ole girl hasn’t been on the road for a few years, it was with a nervous stomach and a brave soul that we hit the road. We’re pleased to report the RV has performed flawlessly, even despite the monsoon we faced (more on that in a bit!). Here’s the RV at Trigger Point HQ, getting ready to hit the road.

The Trigger Point RV, Ready to Roll
We arrived at the GSX facility, and wow – talk about a great place. You Fort Worth CrossFitters have an incredible facility to work out with. Kudos to the staff at GSX for their facility and organization – everything was ready for us when we arrived, and everyone was helpful and accommodating. We did a “dry run” of our set-up late Friday night, went to dinner, and hit the hay. Our Saturday would start early.
And by 6:00am today (Saturday) we were up and at – hoisting signs, placing product, building shelves, and laying out our flooring. The games started at aroun 7:30am, and we were ready – here we are at about 9:00am, working with tons of folks:

The Trigger Point RV was Rockin!
Response was more than favorable – the athletes were shocked by how effective their time with us was. I can’t tell you how many people said, “WOW! I had no idea it would be like that!” With the busy competition schedule, we didn’t get to spend a ton of time with people, but we worked with and talked with at least 300 people – they were coming and going non-stop.
We worked with one athlete who had a particularly tight quad and soleus; after a few minutes on the Footballer and Quadballer, he was ready to rock. He thanked us profusely and went out to the course. Here he is in action:

Clean and Jerk with 155-lbs...
Everything was going great. And then the rains came. And by rains, we mean monsoons. And by monsoons, we mean tornado warnings, severe thunderstorms, strong winds, and bucket loads of lightning, thunder, and of course, rain. They halted the games. Tents blew everywhere (most broke into a ton of pieces first, then blew around); garbage cans sailed through the air; foam rollers were floating everywhere (seriously!). The Trigger Point RV held fast – we got everything inside quickly and suffered minor carnage/damage – a few of our sign posts folded faster than a bad poker hand.

Carnage from the storm
And now we’re sitting in the motorhome, waiting for the rains to pass. They’ve resumed competition, but things are quite soggy, as you can see. Don’t fret – we’ll be back in full strength tomorrow!

The Trigger Point RV held fast! The signs... not so much.
Question: what’s orange or black, round and tubular, features Trigger Point’s unique Distrodensity foam Matrix, and made a sneak debut at Crossfit Central’s Active Recovery workshop?
Answer: Trigger Point Performance’s The Grid (patent pending)
Trigger Point has been very fortunate to enjoy a wonderful relationship with the fine folks over at one of the country’s premiere CrossFit facilities, CrossFit Central, and as such we were both pleased and excited to provide them with a sneak peek of our highly anticipated new product, which we refer to as The Grid*.
The Grid has been in the research and development phase for quite some time, and we’re literally weeks away from launching it and making it available to the public. Jeremy and the crew at CrossFit Central mentioned their week of Active Recovery classes, and we felt it would be a perfect opportunity to quietly debut the product to a very select group of individuals. So, we loaded up the only known examples of The Grid* in existence and joined the Active Recovery class for a roll-out session.
Here you can see The Grid*, sitting conspicuously with CrossFit Central’s Trigger Point products.

Just waiting to be tested out...
The class kicked-off and the instructors asked Cassidy Phillips (our founder and CEO) to say a few words about The Grid*. Cassidy made sure that everyone understood the principles and technologies involved with the product before letting them test The Grid*; he also made sure they realized how unique this opportunity was…

Cassidy explains the details of The Grid*
Class quickly got underway – they spent a solid 45 minutes rolling out and experiencing The Grid* firsthand. There were plenty of “oohs” and “ahhs” and a few “eeks” – some of these folks had some pretty tense and sore muscles – but all reported fantastic results from their initial experience with The Grid*. Here they are rolling out as a group:

Rolling through the pectoral muscles with The Grid*
The 45 minutes passed quickly, and the results were impressive. The feedback from the class attendees was incredible – the group loved the Distrodensity foam Matrix, the feedback, the versatility, the size, and most of all, the effectiveness of the product. We can’t tell you how excited we are about The Grid* – it definitely lives up to its title as the revolutionary foam roller. People asked (begged) to buy what few copies of The Grid* we had available, but alas, we had to decline their generous offers. We’ll be working with CrossFit Central throughout the week and will continue to demonstrate The Grid* to folks that attend the Active Recovery classes.
We’ll leave you with a parting picture of Cassidy talking with Jeremy Thiel. We’re not quite sure what they were discussing, but we’re sure it was business-related…

Many thanks, once again, to our friends and colleagues at CrossFit Central – we appreciate your continued support, and we thank you for using and believing in our product. It’s gratifying to see our products in use and to receive all of the positive feedback and information that we do in settings like this. We’ll be at CrossFit Central a few more times this week, so be sure to drop in and check it out!
*The Grid is trademarked and patent pending by Trigger Point Performance.
