Trigger Point Performance has released its GRID 2.0 foam roller – the newest product in the company’s SMRT-CORE line of self-therapy and life-enhancement tools. The GRID 2.0 foam roller is twice the size of the original GRID foam roller, and is aimed toward people who desire greater body support and comfort during their workout.

“In a clinical setting, a longer foam roller has been used for years, and to some people, size does matter,” said Cassidy Phillips, CEO/founder of Trigger Point Performance. “You’ll get additional support from the GRID 2.0 foam roller, and that will be ideal for many current GRID foam roller users – depending on their size and fitness goals.”

The foam roller uses SMRT-CORE programming, which ‘combines self-myofascial release techniques, core integration and functional stabilization to restore and strengthen the entire body.’

The GRID 2.0 foam roller also features environmentally-friendly technology and is built to withstand a higher impact than traditional foam rollers without breaking down. However, Phillips pinpoints the tool’s 3-D distrodensity zones as the ultimate difference-maker.

“The GRID 2.0 foam roller is designed with our patented series of varied densities patterns in order to mirror the feeling of an actual massage,” Phillips said. “At the same time, the GRID 2.0 foam roller has channels to distribute blood and oxygen through the tissue as you roll on it. No other product on the market gives you the same benefit.”

As an endurance athlete with fibromyalgia (muscle and tissue pain), Phillips originally created Trigger Point products to manage his own pain. Today, the company offers more than a dozen products and programs that help elite and everyday athletes alleviate pain, recover faster and build stronger bodies. Phillips works with Trigger Point users worldwide, empowering them to combine the products and SMRT-CORE programming for healthier, more active lifestyles.

The GRID 2.0 foam roller has an MSRP of US$64.99 and can be purchased online at www.tptherapy.com/shop.

Trigger Point is excited about the newest addition to its Headquarters. CrossFit, combined with Trigger Point methodology makes this unique program perfect for anyone looking to take their fitness to the next level and reach their goals!

CrossFit is the principal strength and conditioning program for many police academies and tactical operations teams, military special operations units, champion martial artists, and hundreds of other elite and professional athletes worldwide. CrossFit delivers a fitness that is, by design, broad, general and inclusive. Crossfit’s specialty is not specializing. Combat, survival, many sports, and life reward this kind of fitness and, on average, punish the specialist.

Cassidy Phillips is the CEO of Trigger Point Therapy and is a biomechanical specialist concentrating on sports performance, injury prevention and the muscular structure that supports the efforts of the body in motion. His objective is to recognize the biomechanical challenges of movement and actions of everyday life and marry them with the biomechanical inefficiencies recognized within patterns of movement defined by a sport of choice or through sedentary patterns of movement such as sitting, walking, and running.

Once told that he could never be an athlete again due to a muscular dysfunction called Fibromyalgia, it became his personal mission to understand muscular structure and the regeneration of dysfunctional muscle tissue. Instead of going through the traditional methods of schooling in fear that his out-of-the-box approach would be squashed, Phillips tackled countless hours of research to better understand the various methods of massage, chiropractic care, surgical procedures, and the treatment of traditional injuries in sport due to repetitive motion.

Phillips gained a solid foundation on Myofascial Release Techniques, a form of massage to address the muscle spindle and the associated dysfunction such as trigger points, adhesions, and other muscular challenges. This process also retrains the pattern of movement by opening up the neurological pathway allowing greater muscular proprioception.

After a long process of trial and error, he married his newly found education to his biomechanical background. The result is a line of patented products–called Trigger Point Technologies (TPT)–that mirror the feeling of the human hand.

Athletes and non-athletes from around the world have used Phillips and TPT products to implement the use of Myofascial release with the TPT tools with incredible and sometimes life-altering results. Listen more to learn about the power of Trigger Point Therapy!
