The Trigger Point Performance Therapy Sponsorship Program seeks to sponsor athletes who truly embody the passion and spirit of Trigger Point Performance’s mission of empowering people to move, believe in themselves, and achieve greatness in their training, racing, and daily life.
Over the next few months, we will be spotlighting various athletes, teams, and events from our Sponsorship Program. For this first post, we proudly present Team AZ Devo, who truly exemplify the passion and outreach that we at Trigger Point Performance believe is so important for athletes of all ages. We are excited to support this team of exceptional youth reach their goals and remain healthy through proper racing and training prep and recovery techniques with the Trigger Point Performance products.
Team AZ Devo is a Junior/U23 cycling team dedicated to supporting and developing the future of cycling. The team, managed by Marty Coplea, is a stepping stone for young riders that have a dream of one day racing at the pro and world class level. In its second year, the team already has a lengthy list of accomplishments, including having riders invited to the prestigious USA Cycling’s European Race Camp in Germany, USA Cycling 24 Hour Jr 4-Man team national champions, podium spots at every local and national competitive event, and six different USA Cycling World Cup Team invitations.
This team of ten racers, with seven members on the Bicycle Junior Team of younger and developing riders, however are not just focused on their training and podium spots. Last year the team put on three mountain bike skills clinics for juniors and developmental riders. Team riders, parents, and staff volunteered numerous ours in the local community doing trail work and various other community activities.
The current 2012 season is packed with a number of exciting races. With two races left in the MBAA Race Series, the team will complete the season having participated in five races and three clinics. Other important season races include US Cup and Pro XCT events, the recent Sea Otter Classic, USA Cycling National Championships, Whiskey Off Road, 24 Hours in Old Pueblo, and hopefully several World Cup events and the MTB World Championships!
